This position provides intermediate administrative support and performance of clerical duties for the Juvenile Probation Department's Legal Unit and the Juvenile Court.
The candidate filling this position must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be computer proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This job requires the following documents to be obtained, reviewed as acceptable by the supervisor and re-obtained every five years:
PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History and FBI Criminal History.
A criminal background check is required.
Essential Duties Juvenile Probation Legal Unit Process and prepare court orders and records following hearings.
Update case files to include dispositions of court hearings.
Maintain current financial documentation, including fines, costs and restitution into the court management system.
Distribute certified and non-certified copies of court orders to staff and attorneys.
Coordinate preparation of court files for daily court schedules.
Reconcile discrepancies relevant to court-imposed fines, costs and restitution.
Coordinate the financial information needed to process payments.
Ensure that documents are returned to the appropriate case file.
Ensure that the proper documents are recorded with the Clerk of Courts' office.
Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience Qualifications / Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Minimum of one year of general office experience.
Intermediate skills in using a personal computer and various software packages Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong typing skills (minimum of 55 wpm).
Ability to use office machines (fax, copier, calculator, etc.
).
Strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in grammar and spelling.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
This position may require a general understanding of human resource guidelines.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of county management.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge &
Experience:
Associate's degree with courses in Office Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
At least two years of customer service experience.
Ability to establish priorities and carry tasks to completion.
Excellent ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to use all office equipment.
Accurate and detail oriented.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of county policies and procedures.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
